CNN and Fox duped by Jessica Sanford story?

I came across this story by way of political forums and searched for a link to verify its source. After coming across many, I chose to compare a few of them. Surprisingly the CNN and Fox News stories video pictures of "Jessica Sanford" did not exactly match:

So that got me to wondering if "Jessica" might be a plant  by political operatives-Obama got an email from her, but never mentioned meeting her-

You can argue the points of the story all day long (no doubt some commentators and bloggers will do just that), but is this a genuine politically motivated story or only an instigated one?
