Where are the Republicans?

I've managed to catch a good bit of  Campaign  2012 (which I just mistyped as 1012. Serendipitous or Freudian slip?)
Right now Herman  Cain is talking about "getting our own oil!" Does he know that that oil belongs to someone who is not "us" ? The people who drill for it have a right to sell it to anyone they please and they do.  And it doesn't help the price at the pump?
Earlier Newt, Steve, and Michelle expounded. Not on anything in particular. Just a general revving noise. The continuing theme with those speakers was "lower taxes and de-funding Obama Care".
So far I am  left  wondering if these guys have had one fresh idea since the days of Abraham Lincoln.
All the usual rhetoric  is being hammered home, including the bits of the Declaration of Independence that fit into this giant infomercial such as,  "Endowed by our Creator" which sentence fragment gained resounding applause-- From people oblivious of a meaning behind the document from which this excerpt was hacked [away].
Gone are the moderates, gone are the real economic conservatives. This is a party not toeing the line but directing the missteps of the teaparty.
The new GOP campaign, sadly, is another power grab to further lessen the options of working Americans and to strengthen the death grip corporatism already has on our lives.

People who have scared away real Republicans , or silenced them, have usurped the Grand Old Party and made it into a  shell placed over the singular interest of fascism.
Doing it, again,  in the name of Mom, apple pie, and  religiosity.
